The big question at the end of the last article was whether the diet MONKEY would loosen its grip or hold on for dear life. The answer that diet MONKEY is alive and well and hasnt loosen its grip at all. In fact I think for some it has moved in and taken up residency.

It has been amazing to see that all the other participants in the Biggest Losers club, method of losing weight involved starving themselves, when that didnt work because they ended up gorging themselves, they tried pills and shakes, then for some reason that didnt work so they went back to starving themselves againwhich didnt work. So the cycle was never ending, hence that diet MONKEY taking up residency.

All the participants fell into the 3 reasons why we fail at dieting category being: fanatical dieting, emotional eating or conditioning. The fanatical dieters jumped from one diet to another, the emotional eaters had no idea why they were eating continuously other than they THOUGHT they were hungry and those who fell into the conditioning pattern, did what they knew starving themselves, because that is what they have always done (regardless that it never worked in the past).

Our Biggest Losers challenge ended and as a writer Ive gained a lot of subject matter that would fill at least 2 or 3 books on the fact that diets DONT work. Oh by the wayI WAS THE BIGGEST LOSER. I of course, had an unfair advantage because I used a program I created, called Gain Back Your life Weight Loss program. This program has helped others lose weight and keep it off. It doesnt involve diets or dieting as such, it reveals the truth about exercise, helps you to supercharge your metabolism, stopping those cravings and more.

kitchen remodeling is one of the biggest home improvement projects that you can take on. You can help minimize the frustrations and spread out the expenses of this time consuming project by doing it in stages. One of the most helpful improvements you can make is to get a dishwasher.

I am amazed at families who live without a dishwasher. I grew up with one in every home, then when I got married we didn't have one in our first home. It was incredible how time consuming it was to wash dishes by hand. I definitely had better things to do with my time. When we moved to our next home I made sure there was one already installed, or at least plenty of room to put one. There's no way I'm doing without it again.

Dishwashers are more complicated than you'd think. They come in a variety of styles and have an astonishing range of features. There are built-in dishwashers, stand-alone dishwashers and countertop dishwashers. For instance, Bosch has a line of dishwashers that is so quiet you might forget you turned it on. I know because my mother in law has one. It's phenomenal. The most recognized are built-in dishwashers which are less visible once installed. If you have a very small kitchen and no available slot for a built in you'll need to get a portable rolling dishwasher, which are self contained units often with a counter top that can be useful for other kitchen needs. Some come with a full blown chopping block on top.

In addition to their obvious time saving factor, dishwashers can also be energy efficient. Electric dishwashers use less hot water than washing and rinsing dishes by hand. (If your spouse is complaining about the money for a dishwasher give him that fact). Many of them carry the energy star label and have special settings specifically to use less water and if you have a water softener you can use less soap, too.

If you don't have a dishwasher already I highly recommend one. From that point on you'll never voluntarily go back to hand washing again.

This morning during my morning ritual of inspirational reading, journaling and caffinating, I read "Well-being is lined up outside your door" in Ask and It is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks.

How to Cure a Golf Slice

Every golfer needs to know to cure a golf slice, even if it is only a temporary fix if a slice develops on the course to let you finish your round without too much damage. The reason for this is that every golfer slices the ball at one time or another. Even tiger woods has been known to slice into the trees occasionally.

To be able to fix a slice you have to know the possible causes. The dreaded banana shot happens because you have put a clockwise spin on the ball. This creates a difference in air pressure between the side spinning into the direction travel and the side spinning away from it.

The spin is imparted because your club face is not squared up to direction of your shot at the moment of strike. If your shot is straight to the target, then you will slice the ball if your club face has not had time to be square to the ball. You are not bringing the golf club round quickly enough and the club face is at an angle when it strikes the ball.

This makes it spin clockwise, and curves it round like a banana. Not immediately, because it takes time for the spin to take effect, but it will happen, and once it starts curving the curve quickly becomes more and more pronounced. A counter-clockwise spin would turn into a hook.

You also slice because, although your club face is straight onto the line to the target, your swing is not. You are swinging across the ball from outside to inside the correct line, and again the club face is not square to the direction of swing, and spins the golf ball. There are a few things you can do to put this right.

first, since your sliced ball is landing well to the right of target it might make sense to aim to the left. However, since you are by definition playing a curved shot, you will lose distance because you are not hitting in a straight line. This is not a good way to cure a slice, but if you are on the course it might do until you finish the round and can get expert help.

A better way is to adopt a stronger grip. To do that you simply grip your club exactly as you normally do, address the ball, then before your backswing move your hands clockwise round the shaft. Just a small amount will be enough. Then play your shot. This will make your club face straighten up quicker and you will either slice less or will have cured the slice. If the former, then move your hands round a little bit more on the next shot. Dont overdo it, or you will straighten the club up too early, and will hook the ball.

If you are swinging across the ball then you should move your feet so that they are more in line with the target. If they are already in line, and you still swing across the correct line, then as a temporary measure move your feet round towards right of the target. This will straighten your swing up till you finish the round, but you really need to have your swing analyzed.

There are a few reasons for swinging across the ball, most of them connected with your swing mechanics. You will probably not be able to correct that yourself, though you could try to make sure that you are not over-rotating your shoulders so that they are crossing the line to the target too early. Make sure that your chest does not cross the ball before you hit it, or that you are not hitting down into the ball rather than straight through it.

Any of these can cause your swing to pull to the right while your clubface is straight to the ball. Most of these might need some professional help to put right and if you have tried the quick fixes described above without solving the problem ask your club pro to run an eye over your swing. A professional can often spot the problem without having to use video analysis.

first, however, try the stronger grip and the change of stance on the driving range, and keep making adjustments until you get some results. If you are swinging across the ball a stronger grip will not help, so if doing that makes no difference then you know that your problem lies in your stance or your swing mechanics.

In that case, if a change of stance closer to the target does not help, then you probably need some professional help. Do not despair though. Any slice is curable: it is simply a matter of finding out where your swing is going wrong and adjusting to put it right. Many golfers have given the game up due to their slice, but there is no need for you to do that. Just take this advice on how to cure a golf slice and you will be back to your normal good game in virtually no time.

The purpose of practicing Brahmacharya is to keep you focused on your purpose in life, the things that instill a feeling of peace and contentment

Historically, Brahamacharya as celibacy was likely a product of teaching yoga to young men, whose desires can be difficult to harness. Unless you are living the ascetic life of a sadhu, chances are you will indulge in sexual pleasure, food pleasure or any number of possible treats. To bring brahmacharya into your life and yoga practice is to practice moderation in all things, including those things that are pleasurable distractions.

When we become hooked on pleasure, it becomes an addiction and the absence of pleasure feels like loss or dissatisfaction; we become unable to enjoy the simple happiness of life, to observe the quiet broad beauty of our minds - slowing down becomes difficult because the focus becomes the object of addiction. Practicing moderation allows us to enjoy pleasure and remain focused on our greater purpose. . How does this relate to asana practice? Sometimes yoga students push themselves in yoga practice, creating a sense of urgency, correctness (am I doing this pose well?) and anxiety. This can leave a student feeling exhausted at the end of their practice rather than feeling relaxed or refreshed and ready for purposeful action off the mat.

It is important to apply moderation to moderation also, so it is not a burden. It is a beautiful practice. It is about moderating the extremes, not wanting too much and being happy with what you have. The practice of Wanting Wanting Wanting will always leave you feeling unsatisfied.

Arrive at the golf course 10 minutes early. Use this extra time to sink some puts on the practice green. You will then have an idea what conditions the greens will be in for that time of day. golf greens perform very differently under different conditions.
Relax. The hard part is over. You have made it to the green. Take you time to look over the green and create a putting plan to get your ball in the hole. Think about how you are going to make your '2 puts'.
Treat every put the same. Unlike your other clubs, virtually every put will be taken with the same stance. Practice your stance until you don't need to think about it. Use the same stance and set up for every shot.
Create a putting procedure. This extends from the last point. Create a mental list of what you do when you arrive at the green and how you address the ball for every shot. Do you take your glove off. Where do you put the rest of your clubs. Do you squat down to asses the slope of the green. Don't create surprises for yourself. Make every green the same as the last.
Slow down. There is no need to hurry on the green. Remember to go through your putting sequence on each shot.

Remember that for such a seemingly simple part of the game, putting can be many golfers biggest problem. Maybe because is should be simple and golfers are too relaxed about paying specific attention to this part of their game.

If you work hard at your putting, there is no reason why you could not shave 7-10 stroke off your game easily.

Do You Worry About a Bus Crashing Through Your Yoga Studio?

A number of years ago, a story appeared in the Los Angeles times. It seems a man was sitting in his living room one Sunday afternoon, feet propped up, watching TV, eating chips and drinking a soda. totally relaxed, thoroughly enjoying his day. Not a care in the world. Suddenly, without warning, the wall of his living room explodes into pieces as a Los Angeles city bus crashes into his home before coming to an abrupt stop. The man is unharmed, still sitting there with his feet up and a corn chip in hand. But now with a look of utter disbelief on his face as he stares into the tall glass windshield of the bus which is now facing him from where his TV used to be.

Some of us are prepared for such occurrences we anticipate they will happen and we are sure to build walls that not even a bus can penetrate. That's ridiculous. What is he talking about?, you ask. You see, many of us spend hours of our days (not only while awake, but also in dreams), worrying about anything and everything that can possibly go wrong. Okay, so maybe planning to deal with a city bus crashing into your studio is a bit much, but think about all the things that you worry about which may not be as extreme, but still hurt your business. (More on the bus story in a minute) I know studio owners who say things like:

I won't hire anyone new because they might not work out and then I'd need to fire them. (I'll stick with the mediocre staff I have at least I know their weaknesses)
I don't want to implement an auto-renew program because someone might not like it and tell all their friends that they didn't know they were on an auto-renew program and then no one will come to my studio anymore.
I don't want to sell merchandise (even what we use in class), because then I'd need to figure out what to do if someone didn't like what they bought and returned it. If this happened a lot, I could lose money. I'd better not sell anything.
I don't want to put out an email newsletter because if I write about a student and make a mistake they could complain and even sue me.

My question to you is this: Where in your own life (business or personal) do you spend time and energy worrying about things that might possibly go wrong? How much emotional energy does this take each week? How much time?

When we focus on what might go wrong, we defeat ourselves. first, we use up time and emotional energy. Next, if you follow the law of attraction, we attract into our lives exactly what we don't want. Also, if you devoted all this time and emotional energy to achieving something that you do want as a part of your studio (or of your life), imagine what could you achieve? There is a big difference between playing at life to not lose and playing to win. Virtually anyone in history who make any kind of a difference in the world played to win. Think of Gandhi, Mother Theresa, The Dalai Lama, or whomever you personally admire. Henry Ford once said Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eye off the goal.

So, how do we choose what to devote time and energy to? I often recommend a simple model, called the Circle of Influence. Imagine there is a circle around you. Inside the circle is everything in your life that concerns you AND which you have a reasonable degree of influence over. Things like the friends you have, what you eat for lunch, what you spend your money on, what type of work you've chosen, etc. Outside of this circle are all those things that you care about maybe very deeply but which you have very little or no influence over. This might be national or world politics, the weather, what choices most other people make in their lives, etc.

Now you get to make a choice. Once you've made this distinction, you may choose to focus nearly all of your time, energy and resources on those things within your circle. Sure, you care deeply about those things outside of your circle, but spending time worrying about them won't improve them. On the contrary, often when we focus on things inside our circle, it expands. Soon we find that we have more influence in the world than we did before. What things in your studio and in your life fall inside your circle of influence, and what falls outside of it?

The bottom line is this. Spend nearly all your time, energy and focus on the goal you want to reach. Only deal with those potential obstacles that clearly lie ahead in your path. As far as the guy with the bus in his living room goes, it turns out that the bus was stolen. In fact because it was stolen, the city refused to take responsibility for the damage. In the end, you can't prepare for everything. You can waste a lot of time trying, but there will always be the chance that a bus drives though your living room. Deal with what you need to and trust the rest will work out. If I might make a request: What is one area of your studio that you stress about, but which you could realistically let go of and be willing to just let go of worrying about? Okay, now do it I know if feels like a giant leap sometimes, but remember, many great souls have already proven this path for you. Go in peace.

I have personally taken my bike on some holidays/vacations with me. They were short, long weekend, holidays but I have still done it.

The most memorable experience I can think of was the time some friends and I plus our families went to a place called Mormon lake in arizona.

I remember it well because it was late spring or early summer so the weather was wonderful. We got there the night before and camped out. The following morning was an overcast day. It was looking like it was going to rain. We all decided to go on a ride anyway.

We were on our way around the lake! The scenery was very beautiful with green trees providing a canopy over the road. The grass was green, long and gently swaying in the breeze.

On our ride around the lake we realized the whole way the roads were wet but we had not been rained on. Once we got back to our camping spot our families told us that the rain had been ahead of us the whole time. So we were able to enjoy a wonderful ride without being rained on!

I think I remember this ride because of the scenery yet also because it was my first biking holiday/vacation. The ride was great and the weather was particularly wonderful.

We all had a great time riding and spending some time together.

It is always nice to get away from the city traffic or your normal riding routes and enjoy a change of scenery.

There are a variety of places that you can get away and enjoy a pleasant bike ride. You might know of some good places you have wanted to try out.

If you can afford to go outside your own country there are great places to ride in italy and along the northern california coast. If you look hard enough there are great places to ride near and far from where you might live.

First off I consider myself a recreational gamer. I own the Sony ps2. The microsoft Xbox 360. And I just purchased the nintendo Wii. Now the nintendo Wii was very hard to come by believe it or not. I went to every store I could think of. But everyone of them were sold out. I finally picked one up on E-bay for $66 more than retail price. Which I didn't think that was to bad. Considering what other consumers were forking over.

So with that all said and done here is what I think of the nintendo Wii.

The console itself is rather small,not much taller than a 100 pack of blank dvds. I bought the sports package which comes with a game disc with five games. Baseball, golf, boxing, tennis and bowling. It came with with one Wii remote controller and one nunchuck controller. I also purchased an extra remote controller and another nun chuck. The console itself was very easy to hookup right out of the box. My family and I were playing within 10 minutes. And what a blast everyone was having. The interacting controllers worked perfect.

The first game we played was Bowling. It was like having your own bowling alley in your living room. Then we tried out the rest of the games. All equally entertaining. For the price tag of $249.99 you can't go wrong. This console is sure to bring your family together. Everyone loved it. The nintendo Wii is definitely a great system that both young and old will love and enjoy for hours on end.

Eliminating excuses is the first step on the path to physical fitness. This may be easier said than done...oops, that is also an excuse! We all have the same 24 hours in a day, and the body we were born with. Yet, people vary greatly in terms of fitness level. Why is that? Because the physically fit don't let lame excuses interfere with their commitment to their health.

Don't let the usual excuses keep you from starting, and sticking with, a reasonable exercise regimen:

1. "The gym is too far away/there isn't gas in the car/my cute workout clothes are dirty...{blah, blah, blah}"

Having your own exercise equipment, in your own domain, removes this line of reasoning. Forget commuting and work out at home. Not being willing or able to go somewhere doesn't have to get in your way.

2. "I don't have time to work out."

working out will increase your energy, which will actually give you more time in your day, not less. And if you choose your exercises to give the most efficient workout, then 30 minutes, 3 times a week should be quite beneficial. Also, your weight may be redistributed in a more attractive way. Then there's the best reason to work out: fun! If you enjoy your workout, you'll do it more often, and will get more and more fit.

Excuses can be a way of postponing things you know you need to do. So eliminate them, one at a time!

Manhunt 2 Review - Just Like The Original

manhunt 2 is the sequel to Rockstar Games' original manhunt from 2003. The video game is available for the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, and PSP. This game has been receiving more attention for its rating than its quality. After being tagged with an adult rating, Rockstar Games reduced the rating down to mature. Finally, manhunt 2 has made it way into gamers' hands.

The storyline in manhunt 2 is about the protagonist named Daniel Lamb. Daniel Lamb is a scientist who is conducting unethical research at an edifice (Dixmor Insane Asylum). Unluckily, Daniel Lamb and his colleagues lose their funding for their research. Despite the lack of funding, they decide to pursue their research. One stormy night, a thunderstorm struck near the Dixmor Insane Asylum. As a result of the inclement weather conditions, there was a power outage. All of the inmates in the Dixmor Insane Asylum become free, and chaos ensues. The plot in the game was much different from the director style approach in the original manhunt. I thought the storyline in this game was about as convoluted as manhunt.

In regards to the gameplay, much of the gameplay from manhunt remains intact in manhunt 2. These gameplay features entail a radar, distracting foes, alertness level of adversaries, and stealth. Stealth is still the name of the game in manhunt 2, and gamers will learn that stealth kills are much easier to perform than other kills. The original manhunt was more gory than manhunt 2, and manhunt 2 has been drastically censored. just like the first game, you can execute three types of stealth kills depending on your timing. Players can perform a swift kill, violent kill, or gruesome kill. Holding the attack button longer will result in the more gratifying kills. Some new features to the gameplay include utilizing your surroundings to eradicate opponents. For instance, lighting an enemy on fire is allowed in the game. Executing hunters with a firearm is another new addition to the game.

There are also those contact sensitive moments in the game (ala Resident Evil 4 and God of War). Artificial intelligence itself is a complete disaster. There are enemies in this game who do an abysmal job of locating where you are hiding. This is especially conspicuous when they are aware of your presence. These opponents acted like a bunch of blind and asinine squirrels attempting to find an acorn. I did not know whether to laugh or shake my head in disbelieve. To makes matters worse, none of the enemies have any idea how to use a gun. All of them fire their guns inaccurately and imprecisely. I have seen better shooting when Dick Cheney fired a shotgun. On the bright side, gamers are given much more freedom to explore the environment in this adaptation of the game. This is due to the fact that you can shoot out the lights and the incompetence of the hunters.

Regrettably, this takes away from the challenge of the game. Moreover, it makes the game vastly more rudimentary than it needed to be. The majority of the gameplay itself is redundant. This is fine as long as the gameplay is engrossing. I am sorry to say that the grotesqueness seems to wear thin after approximately the first few hours of the game. More than one ending is possible, but both endings leave some vague unanswered questions left at the conclusion of the game. The game does have adequate audio. Voice acting is believable, and I thought the music fit the tone of the game perfectly. Moreover, the sound effects are realistic with the glass shattering and the cutting of bones. Overall, manhunt 2 is a video game is has some enjoyment. But it is really only for the manhunt enthusiasts.

Final Verdict: manhunt 2 is an average game.

Try this -

* stand with your feet together and palms together in front of the chest. push your feet into the floor and stretch your necks upwards, lengthening your body as you exhale.

* Breathe in deeply as you raise your arms high, keeping your hands together and bend backwards from the waist.

* Exhale slowly as you bend forwards, placing your hands flat on the floor at the sides of your feet . (Bend your knees if you need to).

* While inhaling, stretch your left leg backwards so it rests on the knee and toes. While doing this bend the right knee and raise your head so you are looking up.

* Holding your breath, bring your right foot backwards besides your left foot. Your body should now make a straight line, just like a push up position, supported on your hands and toes.

* begin lowering your knees, chest and your forehead to the floor, exhaling as you do this. Try to keep your stomach and pelvis off the ground.

* As you are breathing in raise your upper body by straitening your arms and leave your legs on the ground. Look up at the ceiling.

* Exhale and curl your toes under and then push your butt upwards and back. press your heels and head down towards the floor.

The last four steps are the reverse of what you were doing in steps 3 - 6

* While inhaling, bring your left foot forward beneath your chest. Your right leg should be extended backwards with the knee resting on the floor.

* Breathe out as you bring your right leg alongside the left. Raise your right leg alongside the left. Raise your buttocks placing your face close to your legs.

* Breathe in as you straighten upward, extend your arms up, hands together then arch yourself backwards.

* Return to your standing position and exhale. Repeat the sequence leading with your right leg so the stretching action is balanced on both sides of the body.

The first few times it will likely be confusing, but after a while this pose will be second nature to you and you'll be able to included in you schedule.

Introduction

This article provides a brief introduction into documenting software programs for programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). Its aim is to provide clear guidance in the program documentation for PLC's.

This article is based on the Ladder Logic format of PLC Programming, but many of the points also related to Instruction List (IL) and Function Block Diagram (FBD).

PLC Programs should be written and documented so that they can be easily maintained and modified by others than those who originally wrote the program. All PLC Programming Editors have increased documentation capabilities including Siemens, Modicon, Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi.

Documenting PLC Software
Early programmable Logic Controllers had little or no capacity for the documentation of programs. For technicians to understand the logic the program had to be followed from inputs to outputs. This made fault finding or modifications to programs difficult.

As PLC's have developed the programming packages have also improved, allowing for the software to be clearly annotated.

6 Tips On How To Get A Flat Stomach Fast

"Fast" and "flat" are relative. How "fast" you get a flat stomach will depend on a lot of things such as:

1. How much you exercise

2. What exercises you do

3. How old you are

4. What you eat

5. How much rest you get

6. The shape you are in when you start

7. The genes you inherited from you mom and dad

You get my point. Two people can start today to work on getting that flat stomach and one could be there in six weeks, and the other could take six months...or more.

"Flat" is going to vary a little from person to person...not only in what they CAN achieve with the right exercises and so on, but in terms of what they WANT to achieve. Some people want the six-pack abs ripped and shredded to the max, while some just want to stop drooping over the waistband of their bathing suit.

The 6 tips I am about to explain are basically what you need to accomplish either in a reasonable amount of time, but how far you get on your journey to the land of the flat stomach will depend on the factors mentioned earlier.

Tip 1: Stay hydrated. First of all, what you perceive as hunger is often actually thirst. Some people snack a lot because their bodies are crying out for water. Also, not drinking enough water can slow your basic metabolic rate, and that means that it is harder to burn the fat on your stomach. We'll talk more about that later.

Tip 2: Get your rest. By this, I mean SLEEP!! Your body will respond best to ANY sort of exercise program from weightlifting to yoga if it gets the rest it needs. Not only will you be able to perform better after a good night's rest, but it will help your body get on with the business of resculpting your muscles, wherever they may be.

Tip 3: Get the proper nutrition. This means not only the right foods, but in the right quantities at the right times. A tip inside this tip is to try to eat several small meals a day rather than two or three big ones. Foods should be high in protein, but don't neglect the carbs. You need those for energy. Shoot for complex carbs. The rule of thumb is that the closer it is to natural, i.e. apple vs. apple pie, the more complex the carbs. Ice cream is NOT complex.

Tip 4: Exercise your stomach muscles. Your "stomach muscles" are actually made up mainly of three sets of muscles. Each one is in a different position, and has a different job to do. By the same token, developing each set of muscles will require you to do specific exercises for that set of muscles.

The three sets of muscles are the rectus abdominis (the six pack down the middle of your body from ribcage to groin), the transversus abdominus (TVA) which runs from back to front and holds everything in place, and the obliques (internal and external) which lie on the side.

Bad news: You've got to exercise each set of muscles.

Good news: No need to do ten thousand crunches a week. Pick your exercises and do each set of muscles twice a week. Start slowly with low reps and ease upward. Thirty reps per set with a couple or three sets might be all you need. I will only have room in this article for a couple of exercises, but you can find plenty on the internet.

Exercises for the rectus abdominis:

1. The crunch: You know this one, right? On your back, knees bent, feet flat on the floor close to your buttocks. Put your hands beside your head or across your chest and curl your head and shoulders up toward your knees. You can increase the difficulty by holding a weight behind your head, putting your feet up on something, or by holding your feet in the air as you crunch. I recommend hands "beside" the head rather than "behind" as this may help prevent injury from pulling on the head and shoulders as you try to knock out a few more. Before you begin each crunch, try to flatten your lower back to the floor. When you have curled up to the maximum position, hold that position for a second and then try to curl just a little more. You might be surprised to find that you may be able to go just a little farther.

2. The reverse crunch: In basic crunches, you keep your feet and legs still while curling your head and shoulders up. In reverse crunches, you begin on your back with your hands at your sides on the floor with your knees elevated towards your chest. The movement is merely pulling (crunching) the knees towards your head while keeping head and shoulders in place.

Exercise the transversus abdominus:

The vacuum: Practitioners of yoga will recognize part of Cat Pose (Bidalasana) in the vacuum exercise. In fact, the movement can be done standing, hanging (by your hands of course), or on hands and knees as in the cat pose. It is pretty simple. You just slowly exhale, using your abdominal muscles to draw your navel in as far towards your spine as possible and hold for a few seconds and then let it go. Slowly build your way up to a couple of sets of twenty holds.

Exercise the obliques:

More good news! You really don't want to work these incredibly hard unless you want a wide waist! While strong, healthy obliques are good to have, power lifters and people like that are the ones who will really WANT to develop their obliques to the max.

Side bends with dumbbells are probably the most common form of exercise for these muscles.

Exercise the entire core:

Again, a yoga pose, slightly modified, will help tighten and tone the entire core. Known in yoga as Plank pose and also called Abdominal Bracing, this is an easy to perform yet highly effective exercise when done over time.

Lie face down on the floor with your toes touching the floor as if you were going to do a pushup. rest your upper body on your elbows with your forearms extended on the floor. Raise the center of your body so that it is in a straight line resting only on toes and elbows. Hold this position for as long as possible, up to a minute. At first, even a few seconds may seem like forever, but you should progress fairly rapidly with this one. Do it twice every couple of days.

Now, if it sounds like I sort of glossed over the exercise portion, that's because the exercise is not really THAT important.

Having strong stomach muscles is of value, but the stomach muscles usually react favorably to regular, moderate exercise, and you don't have to kill yourself to get strong stomach muscles. In fact, as fitness coach and competitive bodybuilder, Tom Venuto says in his great eBook, "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle":

"It's entirely possible that you could have a GREAT set of abs that are completely covered up with fat, so you can't see them!"

That's why MOST people don't have a flat stomach already! Whatever stomach muscles they have are covered over with fat.

ABDOMINAL EXERCISES DO NOT BURN FAT!

Cardio workouts, i.e. aerobic activities such as "Sweatin' to the Oldies", running, walking, biking, swimming, and similar activities burn fat. So....

Tip 5: Add cardio activity to your fitness program four to six times a week. Thirty to forty-five minutes would be good. Again, work your way up. When my wife first tried following Richard Simmons, she thought she was going to have a heart attack. She had to sit on the couch and wave her hands and try to wiggle her feet in motions something like what the people were doing on the screen. A few days later she could go through the whole routine...standing up and sweatin' with the gang!

As great as cardio is, the fat burning effect lasts primarily during the exercise session itself, so here is the last tip to elevate your basic metabolic rate so that you are burning calories at a higher rate all day long.

Tip 6: Start weight training or other progressive resistance strength training. As you build muscle over all the parts of your body, you will be creating thousands of little tiny heaters that burn the fat day and night. You don't have to use super heavy weights. An explanation of a basic weightlifting workout is a little too much to get into here, but many websites can point you in the right direction.

WON'T ALL OF THIS REQUIRE A LONG TIME EVERY DAY?

Nope!

It's a little bit beyond the scope of this article, but if you were to train half of your body with weights for 20 to 30 minutes on Monday and Thursday, and the other half on Tuesday and Friday, and then immediately follow each resistance workout with enough cardio activity to bring your total workout time to 45 minutes, you would spend about three hours a week actually working out. Trail running is quickly becoming one of the most popular sports in the outdoor industry. Barely recognized as a sport a few years ago, trail running was viewed as a speedy alternative to hiking. However, with the emergence of ultra-distance running on trails the prestige that comes with winning a trail race has increased tremendously. As trail running becomes more mainstream, it is important that you as a runner remember a few crucial bits of nutritional information that will make any trail run all the more enjoyable.

Hydration: The Key to Performance

Proper hydration is at the forefront of any activity you plan to participate in. If your body is in motion, then you need to make sure that you are hydrated. Water is essential to the human body. 60-70% of our body mass is water, up to 90% of our brain mass is water, and up to 75% of muscle tissue is comprised of water. Water is also the main component of blood the important carrier of glucose, oxygen and other nutrients. In general, your body loses 64-80 ounces of water daily through urine, feces, sweat, skin, and expired air. This water needs to be replaced by daily fluid consumption of 64-80 ounces. Another, albeit much less scientific, way to determine daily fluid requirements is to evaluate your urine. Dark and concentrated urine is indicative of inadequate fluid intake. Urine should be pale yellow to clear, and copious. Trail running is a four-season sport. You can run in practically any weather condition, on virtually any terrain.

In warm weather, the only way to ensure that you will not become dehydrated is to stop it before it happens. When you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated. That is why it is important to properly hydrate before any event. The clich eight glasses a day does not take into account your standard active athlete. If you are training in the heat, you need not worry about how many glasses you are drinking but rather concentrate on drinking periodically throughout the day. Keep a water bottle close to you at all times and sip from it continuously. This will ensure that your cells with be maximally hydrated at the start of any workout. Although water is great to be drinking if you are planning on sitting still all day, if you are active you should be hydrating with a carbohydrate solution, preferably one with anywhere between 6-8% carbohydrates. This will ensure that your body not only gets the hydration it craves but also that it maintains the right amount of electrolytes. during the trail run itself, focus on continuing to sip continuously from your water bottle. It is best if you can either run with a handheld water bottle or find a comfortable hydration pack. Weigh yourself before and after a hot weather workout to ensure proper rehydration. For every pound that you lose while running, rehydrate with 24oz of liquid or 150% of your total water loss.

In the cold you need to remember that you still have to hydrate. Your hydration needs in cool weather are just as important as in hot weather. You will not feel like you need to drink as much liquid; however, you still need to avoid becoming dehydrated. While you wont be losing as much liquid through perspiration, you still need to have liquid on hand, especially if you plan to run over thirty minutes. Try to drink every ten to fifteen minutes to ensure that you avoid becoming thirsty.

Choosing the right liquid is critical to your hydrating success. Find a carbohydrate drink that will sit well with your stomach and budget. If you are racing, train with the drink that will be provided on the course, since that will be what you will drinking once you get out there. Find an electrolyte containing beverages with 4% to 8% carbohydrate. Drinking a 10% carbohydrate solution can potentially cause gastrointestinal issues, which can be considerably uncomfortable regardless if you are training or racing. The high sugar content can slow the release of fluids into your intestine and delay the rate of absorption. With a 4-8% combination of carbohydrates your body is able to absorb a proper balance of electrolytes which is recommended for any events lasting longer than an hour. Though beverages with caffeine provide hydration, they are not the best choice as excessive caffeine consumption may interfere with sleep patterns and will have a mild diuretic effect. Try to limit your intake of these liquids throughout the day especially if you are planning on a long distance trail run.

Get the Gear: Finding the Right Hydration system

If you are just getting into trail running you need to find the hydration system that will work best for you. This can take time and will only improve with experience, so be patient. For a long distance training trail run, find a hydration system that is lightweight, comfortable and will be able to carry enough liquid to meet your hydration needs. Personally, I prefer to run with handheld water bottles, because holding the water bottles reminds me of the need to drink. If I run with a hydration pack, I find myself becoming consumed in the run and forgetting to drink. However, by holding the bottles I have a constant reminder that I need to stay hydrated. The only downside to carrying water bottles is that you have something in your hands. This can become a problem on a long distance run when your body becomes fatigued and the last thing you want to do is hold onto a multi-pound water bottle. That is why running with a pack can be an advantage.

In the beginning, hydration packs were cumbersome and not worth the discomfort that they brought. However, in recent years that has changed as the outdoor industry has consistently improved on the lightweight, comfortable hydration pack. In cool weather conditions a pack is ideal. When you first start out running more than likely you will be wearing excess clothing. Shedding a few layers with no where to stash them can be a problem; however, with a pack you can easily stuff them away. Then if the weather turns malo you can just pull them back out. Also, since more than likely you will not be drinking as much liquid you can better regulate how much liquid you are carrying by how much fluid you put into the bladder. If you enjoy running with a hydration pack in warm weather, look for one that will be able to keep your back cool. The main problem I found with early hydration packs was that they trapped the heat expelled off your back. I found myself loosing an enormous amount of liquid from the sweat caused by the rubbing of the hydration pack and my back. Either choose a hydration pack like the Patagonia Houdini Hydration Pack that has mesh shoulder straps and an air flow system or use a lumbar pack like the CamelBak Alterra Hydration Pack to remain cool and hydrated in the hottest of conditions.

watch Your Calories: You need Fuel!

If you are planning on running over an hour then you need to make sure that you take into account your nutritional needs as well as hydration needs. Your body size and the activities you choose will determine how many calories you need to consume while exercising. Typically, most experts recommend that athletes eat anywhere from 100 to 150 calories per hour to maintain proper glycolic and caloric balances. Regardless of what type of food or gel you use for fuel delivery, carbohydrates remain your best source of energy for training and racing. Remember not to shun real food for synthetic food options. Fig Newtons, Banana, Peanut Butter sandwiches and Larabars are all great options that can be easily packed into a hydration pack or carried on a trail run.

As your body pushes the limits, make sure that you are providing it with the right fuel for the job. To sum up, staying properly hydrated throughout the day is crucial to your workout success. Find a 4-8% carbohydrate drink that your stomach can tolerate if you plan to be running longer than an hour and plan to consume 100-150 calories per hour of exercise. Finally, experiment with different hydrating options until you find a hydration system that works for you. Everybody is different, but taking the time and finding the right way to stay hydrated and fueled will yield major advantages for any athlete in any discipline.

It all began in 1972 with a unit you may remember Magnavox Odyssey. While Magnavoxs efforts were short lived, they are still remembered to play a heavy role in the establishment of the home-based video game console. Of course Atari was next in line with a new and back then evolutionary game PONG. As simplistic as the game was, it was loved by consumers worldwide and helped launch Ataris name into the big books.

The newly created gaming industry was gaining strength and the general consumers interest. However as 10 years passed the video gaming industry was about to crash. In 1983, consumers criticized the lack of quality console games with the emergence of home-based computers, gamers began to lose faith in the console. Breaking the silence in late 1983, nintendo introduced the Famicon (Nintendo Entertainment System). With the release of the Famicon came the birth of Super Mario Bros. a signatory series to the nintendo brand.

Nintendos dominance was challenged by Sega who entered the market with their Master system. Despite Segas efforts, their Master system barely captured any market share and made little profit. While both systems were powerful for their time, neither was able to outperform Sega or nintendo who both dominated the market until 1994. On December 3 1994, Sony launched its Playstation system and enjoyed a successful launch. nintendo followed 2 years later with their 64-bit offering, the nintendo 64. Even at this stage nintendo made the controversial decision of releasing a cartridge based system arguing that it would reduce load times and minimize piracy.

Sega fought back one last time in 1998, releasing the dreamcast. While Segas efforts were strong, the company failed to make ends meet when Sony released the successor to their first console the ps2 (in 2000). In 2001 nintendo released its gamecube targeting a younger market. Both companies had established their own brands and proved themselves to the gaming community. Sonys system was challenged in 2001 when microsoft entered the arena with their xbox.

We are currently in a new generation of console gaming. While Xbox 360 is currently available the ps3 and Wii are due to release later this year. Previously, Sony dominated in market share, however this is forecast to change with the new generation of gaming. More than ever it is critical to offer the greatest innovation, greatest power and most of all the greatest games.

So who will dominate the market this generation? This is difficult to answer, however as a gaming enthusiast, I strongly believe that competition between the three companies ultimately means better games for you the gamer.

Disney's Expedition Everest - Keep Your Eyes Wide Open

The newest attraction to grace walt Disney World's mountain range is Expedition Everest in animal Kingdom. It has been the buzz for many years, and much anticipated since Epcot's Soarin' was unveiled a few years ago. I experienced the attraction twice - once in stand-by, and once with a FastPass.

The architectural illusion of the attraction house (which is shaped, obviously, like Mount Everest) is absolutely stunning. The peak looks miles up (but Splash Mountain is actually taller!), and there is nothing around to clutter the view. It could be Disney's best illusion yet - and you don't even have to wait in a line to experience it!

The line queue is nice as well - visitors weave through a quaint mountainside village on their way to the loading bay. On the way, teaser exhibits describing "Yeti lore" show that locals admire a certain mountain creature.

My first ride experience was a bit of of a disappointment. It reminded me too much of the aged Matterhorn in disneyland. I won't spoil the actual attraction for you here, but it was a regular roller coaster. Think Indiana Jones (in Paris, not Disneyland!) mixed with Matterhorn.

However, I later learned that I missed the attraction's major highlight (I must have blinked or something) - a large Yeti. The next time I kept my eyes peeled, and I saw, for less than two seconds, the largest, creepiest, most monstrous animatronic Yeti in all of Disneydom. For the effect of those two seconds, the ride suddenly became worth it. I just wish it was more obvious, and that I had seen it the first time.

Try a Slow-Carb Habit

Carbohydrates - found in grains, breads, pasta, and sugar, as well as vegetables, fruit, tofu, beans, and dairy - provide the body with the most efficient fuel for energy production and brain activity. They're nutritionally essential, a principle currently downplayed by the "low-carb craze".

What is important to understand is that not all carbohydrates have the same "fuel efficiency". Many carbohydrates - termed "refined" or "simple" - cause blood sugar highs and lows which can result in a period of high energy followed by a period of extremely low energy, often leaving the person craving more of the simple quick release carbs.

Examples of these "refined" carbs are regular pasta, white bread, snack foods and baked goods. The weight loss plans that advocate eating less or none of these foods are on the right track, except they tend to throw out the GOOD carbs as well. We'll call these "slow carbs", and here's why:

after you eat them, the carbohydrates in foods are broken down and released as sugar units (glucose) into your bloodstream. "Slow carbs" are foods that release glucose at a slower rate.

Typically, these foods are "whole foods"; that is, they contain the fibre and minerals that are often removed in making their refined, "quick-release" counterparts. (Such is the difference between whole wheat bread and white bread.)

Choosing "slow carbs" over refined carbs helps keep your blood sugar balanced (positively affecting your hunger level, mood and mental concentration, among other things). Fibre also promotes regularity and helps maintain healthy blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Examples of "slow carbs" are whole grain breads and crackers, potatoes with their skin, beans & legumes, brown rice, oats, and whole grain pasta.

Here are five tips for creating a "slow carb" habit:

1. Whole foods - Eat as close to natural as possible. Vegetables, fruits, beans and lentils are whole foods that contain all of their original nutrients (fibre, vitamins, minerals, and carbohydrates for energy).

2. Grains & Breads - When it comes to grain products such as breads, crackers, cereals, and pasta, choose "darker", whole grain varieties. This can be done in restaurants as well as the grocery store.

3. Snacking - Fruit is an excellent snack. Consuming the whole fruit provides the slow-release carbs and will sustain your energy for longer, as opposed to fruit juice, which provides the body with a quick release of fruit sugar into the bloodstream. Another great snack to try is sliced red peppers with hummus (made from chickpeas).

4. take the time (you're worth it!) - Seeing as some of the slow-carb options take longer to cook (e.g., brown rice versus white rice), make them ahead of time, and make extra to freeze for future meals. Brown rice is very versatile; try it in soups, casseroles, stuffed vegetables, or for breakfast (warmed) with cinnamon, raisins, chopped nuts or ground flaxseed.

5. Read labels - "Whole wheat" (or other "whole" grain) should appear before any other flour in the ingredient list. White flour can be disguised as "wheat flour", enriched flour", "unbleached flour", or "grain flour", to name a few.

Working at substituting "slow carb" foods into your lifestyle will ensure that you have ample energy, proper nutrition, and that you maintain a healthy weight. Of course it's also essential that you find some ways to be active and that you limit high fat and high calorie snack foods as best you can.

1.On the right-hand side of most screens in Office 2003, there is a Getting Started task pane which allows you quick access to your documents and also enables you to access the microsoft Office online system. From this task pane you can open new or saved documents, connect to the help section of the microsoft Web site and get the latest news about Office 2003. The task pane also contains a search box which will link to the microsoft Web site, provided your computer is online. You can enable or disable the Getting Started task pane by clicking on View on the top menu and then selecting Task Pane.

2.The new Research task pane is a very useful method of looking up information from a variety of sources on the Internet. This pane also contains a search box into which you can enter your query. Immediately below the search box there is a drop-down arrow which, once invoked, displays a list of sources, e.g. Encarta Dictionary, Encarta Encyclopaedia, MSN money Stock Quotes etc The Research Task pane can be enabled by clicking on the small black triangle at the top of the right hand pane.

3.A selection of Templates is now available form the microsoft Web site. type templates into the search box and the Office online site will produce a list of appropriate results. Some of the templates available for microsoft Word 2003 include, calendars, business plans, resumes, flyers, presentations, expense reports, forms etc Why reinvent, when microsoft has the hard work done for you?

4.Information Rights Management (IRM). Click on File on the top menu and then Permission, and provided you have IRM installed you can restrict access to your documents. You can create documents with restricted access in microsoft Office Professional 2003, microsoft Office Word 2003, microsoft Office Excel 2003, and microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003. You can easily prevent sensitive material from falling into the wrong hands even when your documents have been submitted electronically.

5.New Reading Layout view which makes reading long documents much easier on the eyes. Turn on Reading Layout either from View on the top menu or from the Reading Layout icon on the bottom left hand corner. This view also introduces a navigational toolbar at the top which includes thumbnails and a document map.

If you are a gamer, if you have a close relationship to a gamer, if you have a child who is a gamer or could be gamer, or if you ever watch television you have at least heard of the xbox 360. By some, it is considered the greatest gaming console on the market today. Yet, others are still in love with their Play stations and will remain faithful to them always. If you are thinking about buying the 360, even if it is just a casual thought, or if you would just like to sound more inform that next time you are with your gaming friends than maybe you would like to learn more about some of the pros and cons of this system.

Pros:

---Many people will agree that the graphics on the xbox 360 is great. Are they better than the graphics on the newer Playstation (the PS3)? That question is debatable. Most people will say that the PS3 is better. Yet, most will still agree that it has better graphics that the popular Nintendo Wii.

---The xbox 360 was released before the ps3. This means you have a better selection of new games and accessories than you do for the ps3.

---The xbox 360 is cheaper than the ps3. The machine generally sells for $299 while the ps3 sells for $499.

---If you buy the extra HD-dvd drive for the X-Box 360 you can watch dvd movies on it. It usually runs at around $199.

---It also comes with X-box live. Once you sign up for it, you can download games and music. You can also play online multiplayer games.

---Soon it will also allow you to buy movies and TV shows online and then download them onto your machine (if all goes as planned).

---You can buy wireless controllers for this machine as well. This makes game play so much easier. The receivers run at around $20 and will work up to four headsets and four wireless controllers at the same time. The headsets run about $60 and have a battery power that will run up to eight hours. The wireless controllers run about $50 and have a battery life of about 40 hours.

Sounds pretty good so far? Now you are probably wondering about the cons.

----First there is the price. Yes, the Xbox 360 is selling cheaper than the ps3. Yet, the price is still considered a bit much for the casual gamer or someone on a budget.

---If you aren't into hardcore games, than you won't have as many choices of new games to choose from for the xbox. Most of their newer games are considered hardcore.

---The xbox console itself is loud when playing. This can be especially annoying if you are playing a dvd movie. What is the solution for this problem? By turning up the volume of the machine you do not have to hear the swirling noise as much. Yet, this can be as annoying, too.

---The xbox 360's power source is ugly and heavy. It doesn't really go with the sleek look of the machine. You also have to be careful where you place it. You don't want to sit it close to other objects because it can overheat and become a fire hazard.

Of course the ultimate decision is up to you. Do you think you will actually enjoy playing the game console or if you are buying it as a gift, do you think the person receiving it will enjoy it? After all enjoyment should be on the top of every pro list, even a pro and con list for the reasons why one should buy an xbox 360.

There are many things you can do to lose love handles. Here are 2 things you can do that are very important and will have a great impact.

1. Watch what you eat Have you heard the saying "You are what you eat"? It is very true. Everything you put into your body affects your body - in a good way or in a bad way. It is up to you to decide whether you want to eat healthy foods or bad foods. Stuff that will make your body happy and give you a long, healthy life. Or stuff that tastes good, but is very, very bad for you.

Eat more fiber in the form of fruits and vegetables. Drink lots of water. Cut out sugar. Cut out junk food. reduce or eliminate the intake of alcohol.

It all sounds like too much trouble doesn't it? Does it feel like you are giving up too much?

You really are not you know. Your body gets used to it. If you start eating healthy, after a little while your body will forget what junk food tastes like. In fact you will start developing a craving for fruits and veggies. Seriously - it's just a question of getting rid of old eating habits and acquiring new ones.

2. Use your feet We have two feet and we were meant to use it. What do I mean? I mean get them moving. Any movement helps. Movement at a faster pace (which people call cardio workouts) help even more. Do something, do anything. Walk around your house - vacuuming counts.

Our body was not built to sit around. Unfortunately we are in a society where most of us do not get even a little exercise. exercise feels like work.

So here is a fun way to overcome the dread of exercise. take the stairs instead of the elevator. If you can, walk to the grocery store. Walk to the movie theatre. The stores are not close by? No problem. Walk around your neighborhood. Look at how the different houses are designed, how people have designed their lawns,what they have on their lawns. The idea is to get your brain engaged and make it a game. Make up a story of how you think that family lives. What you are doing is getting your mind off the fact that you are exercising!

Try it - you'll be amazed at how many miles you walk.
